Here we present a new feature, the Director's
Chair, an ongoing blog from Bert Miller, Artistic
Director for ACT.

Well another year has come and almost gone. The only thing we have left is our
double feature movie night in December. On December 20 we are showing the
double feature, "Singing in the Rain," and "Meet Me in St. Louis." These classic old
fun movies, and one of them contributed a couple of songs to our most recent
production "Blame It on the Movies."
Speaking of "Blame It on the Movies," I'm really kind of sad to see it go. It was a
great show, and seemed to get better and better with each performance. The cast
was incredibly fun to work with, each and every one of them giving 110% despite a
round of the creeping crud that seemed to attack every singer just before the
production opened. But a little thing like sickness didn't stop any of them. And the
crew did an awesome job of keeping the show on track with all the costume
changes and special effects thrown in at the last minute.
My only disappointment is that our attendance wasn't very high on some nights. It's
sad that more people couldn't have joined in on this celebration of movie music.
They won't know what a good show and how much fun they missed.
I am excited about our upcoming season. We have fun and frolic,
music and mayhem on stage for 2015. It's a great line up of shows
some of which will be directed by a few very talented guest
directors. In fact our first production will begin even before 2014
has ended. We will be having auditions for "Godspell" the first show
of 2015 on December 28, 29 and 30 of this year. So get out your
tap shoes, brush up on your vocals and come join us for a
wonderful experience on stage. (Just kidding, no one is required to
