Looking to the future
Now that ACT has completed our 2017 season, we are excitedly
looking toward the future. The 2018 season promises to bring a
lot of fun new things to our community.

First, there are the shows.
We are planning on four productions for the upcoming year. Since
the board is still negotiating for production dates with our venues,
we can’t officially release the shows as we are not able to pay
royalties until we know when we have our performance dates.
However I can say we are looking at a revival of “Station KACT’s
Old Time Radio Show,” and new shows “The Voice of the Prairie,”
“Three Weddings and an Elvis,” and “Shakespeare is a Dick.”
That comprises a season of two hilarious comedies, one romantic
drama and one very funny musical variety production.

Season tickets should be on sale the minute we have the
performance dates nailed down. And if you had season tickets to
the 2017 season, they will carry over into the 2018 season and
cover all four productions as our gift to our patrons.

In addition to our regular productions we are planning to sponsor
an original play writing contest with the winner’s show being
produced by ACT in the 2019 season. We also hope to host a
workshop of kids during the summer, and another short
performance at the Aaron Douglas Art Fair.
ACT also hopes to have a table at Topeka Gives in the Fairlawn
Plaza Mall for patrons who would like to donate to our organization
and help us get matching donation from the Topeka Gives

So as you can see, although we seem to have gone into
hibernation, it is just to store up the energy to burst out of our
cocoons in the 2018 season with a plethora of butterfly ideas and
projects. There will be plenty of opportunities for people to join us
and get involved both as audience members and as volunteers for
a fun learning experience in theatre!
